Hightime I started chronicling something about the wedding...
To start with Balaji - the groom is back in India. I was initially supposed to go and reeive him. Suddenly my mom wanted to join me to see the should-be groom. So I booked a taxi. Rekha also couldnt contain herself, and she really wanted to be at the airport to receive Balaji.
The night I checked the flights schedule on the net, and it said the singapore flight was delayed by about 20 minutes. So we booked a taxi to pick us up from home by 10pm, so that we can be there at the airport around 1045, and then after customs etc, Balaji would come by 1130 or so...we were there at the airport by 1030, and were checking the arrivals, and I was shouting at my mom and Rekha as to not to keep drifting here and there...and suddenly my mom called me, and pointed in one direction...
Lo and behold, Rekha was walking with Balaji...I was surprised...looks like the flight landed early by 955pm itself and his luggage came first in the carousel. So he was out by 1020 itself and was in fact, waiting for someone to coe and receive him...
He did look smart and didnt belie the photograph we received of him...he looked exactly the same, handsome and fair...
Thats the story of arrival of Balaji into Chennai!

Wedding Invitation
The wedding arrangements frenzy is catching on.
Today, myself and Rekha went to Menaka Cards to book the order for the template chosen by Balaji and Rekha. In fact, the same is also chosen by myself, my wife (Rekha's anni), our mother and Bala's parents.
Next step is to give the traditional manjal pathrikai for printing. This would be done locally.
The fun kicks in when we start writing out invitees list. We have the huge task of segregating the names as (1)those who will definitely attend (2)those to whom we need to give, but may not come (3)those we need to give the english invites so on and so forth.
Am generally happy to start the wedding preps...
